Greg Loades

Greg Loades is a freelance writer and editor, living and gardening in Hull. Formerly deputy editor of The English Garden, gardening editor for both BBC Gardeners’ World magazine and Garden News, and editor of The Alpine Gardener, the Alpine Garden Society’s quarterly journal, Greg started his career working in the rose industry. He now writes about gardens and gardening for publications including Kew, Garden Answers and LandScape magazines and is the author of several books including The Modern Cottage Garden, The 30-Minute Gardener and The National Trust Gardener’s Almanacs 2024, 2025 and 2026.
